Gym Classes - let us be your child's "Roll" model.

 

For ages 6 months to 8 years old* , Rolly Pollies structured, movement-based curriculum is divided into five 9-week sessions, each of which highlights one major skill theme (such as orientation, hand/foot-eye coordination, jumping/landing, rolling and others), while covering all fundamental movement categories including strength, flexibility, agility, rhythm, endurance, balance, physical awareness and more.  The equipment set-up changes weekly and features standard stations as well as new activity stations where particular movements are solicited and practiced.

Our Gymbugs™ begin their journey here: crawling, sliding, hanging, swinging and tumbling all for the very first time! Safely explore your child's natural abilities, assisting and encouraging them as they grow and develop right in front of your eyes! Meet and learn from other parents during our instructor led discussions!

The journey continues . . . as our Gymbugs™ develop their gross motor skills, social interaction is emphasized and encouraged . . . walking, jumping, climbing, singing, dancing and moving with each other, making new friends and incorporating physical activity into their lives.

Motor skills continue to develop rapidly as our Gymbugs™ participate in more advanced coordination challenges. Through singing, dancing, games, gymnastics and tumbling activities, your child will begin to build the confidence and self-esteem they will need as they grow . . . and you will be right there with them!

Listening, comprehension and socialization skills are emphasized as structure increases. We begin to use more progressive movement and tumbling stations as we continue to teach our Gymbugs™ to enjoy physical activity.

Our Gymbugs™ are now skilled tumblers, climbers and swingers!! More difficult gymnastics and movement activities are now in place, focusing on improving physical awareness, strength, flexibility and confidence!

The growth continues through more ambitious and complex activities. Sports skills are now coupled with our gymnastics and tumbling exercises to further develop hand-eye coordination, motor skills and to introduce teamwork and camaraderie.

Do you have kids that like to turn your living room into an obstacle course? This class is designed for our older Gymbugs that crave more of a challenge.

 

Inspired by the TV show "American Ninja Warrior" children will participate in exciting obstacles including rope climbing, spider walk, cargo net, trampoline, slackline, wall climbs, rope swing, and much more! We will work to build upper body strength, generate momentum, increase endurance, work on grip strength, and, best of all, build courage as we test their limits with physical feats that are both challenging and fun! This class is sure to produce red cheeks and a sweaty brow.

Open Gym is mixed age supervised play time. - It is a great opportunity to keep the kids moving when going to the park is not an option, or the heat is too much. Run, jump, tumble, climb and bounce, plus use their imagination to build forts with our mats or in our awesome foam pit! We know they will sleep well that night! Individual Open Gym times allow you to come to any open gym session with no commitment. Just call ahead and let us know you plan to attend.

This program is offered to those parents who have more than one child and would like to take part in the Rolly Pollies experience but don’t want to get a babysitter. Gone is the one parent to one child ratio normally required in our regular tumbling class. In this class, you, along with the Rolly Pollies staff, can play with up to 3 children (triplets, friend’s child, etc.) without the assistance of another adult. Maximize your time and open up your schedule! Bring all of your children at once and let them enjoy our free-play class together.

In this class, our Gymbugs will master the basic elements of gymnastics including the introduction of dance/tumbling combinations and simple elemental combinations on various apparatus. Through group activities and drills, strength/endurance training and multiple repetitions of skills, our instructors will discipline the mind, strengthen the body, increase muscle memory and teach about the importance of physical fitness. Confidence, self-esteem and socialization are emphasized through the introduction of performance events and team spirit . . . and each child will be given the opportunity to “show off” what they have learned for their teammates, coaches, and parents at the end of each session. This skills-based, progressive, and structured program will challenge even the most avid tumbler and provide a safe, fun, and encouraging environment to develop socially.
